Joana Alves
Students were asked to select a film director and dive deep into their body of work — watching, reading, and analyzing their visual language, recurring themes, and stylistic choices. Based on that research, the task was to design and animate both a Title Sequence and End Credits for one of the director’s films, aiming to capture its cinematic essence through motion, typography, and visual rhythm. As an extension of this project, I also created two motion posters for a fictional film festival taking place at Cinema Batalha, entirely dedicated to the same director. The posters served as dynamic promotional pieces, designed to reflect the atmosphere of the director’s filmography and to visually communicate the tone of the event. Through motion, typography, and minimal visual cues, the posters aimed to evoke curiosity and immerse the viewer in the director’s cinematic world.
